Dear Friends, The National Endowment for the Arts and LISC-National are opening up one of our creative placemaking events to EVERYONE! Please join us and consider inviting your creative placemaking team and contacts. How do you find more funding and support for your creative placemaking work, whether it's a new project, extension, or expansion of existing work? Who should you ask? How do you develop champions and partners? What's the best approach to local funders and decision-makers? What can you do from the start of a new project to build more support? Join us for a discussion about these issues, along with some tips for creating your pitch. The Our Town Creative Placemaking Technical Assistance Program created this opportunity—a special event for the national creative placemaking field—for community groups working on creative approaches to community planning and development. Please join us by registering here: bit.ly/NEAMeet. I'd love to see you there. Margy Speakers: Margy Waller is an advocate for creating community through the arts, founder of Art on the Streets, and a policy expert who has worked at Brookings Institution and the White House Domestic Policy Council. Sarah has managed $7 million dollars in arts-related projects, including public art, programming, and project financing/development. Erik Takeshita has more than 25 years of experience focusing on the role of art and culture in building stronger and more equitable communities and is serving as co-director of The Culture & Community Power Fund.
